The accident happened at about 5.20pm this evening at the junction of Thicketford Road and Crompton Way.
The two vehicles involved were a silver Toyota Yaris and a dark coloured Ford Ka, which were both badly damaged in the smash.
An ambulance was called to the scene after the male driver of one of the cars complained of head injuries, but his injuries are not thought to have been serious.
