WEST Brom manager Tony Pulis has been pranked by a caller who pretended to be Neil Lennon.

Limavady United midfielder Blain Morrison, who speaks with a Northern Irish accent, got hold of Pulis' mobile number and left him a voicemail saying he was Neil Lennon.

Pulis then called the prankster back and had a two-minute conversation with him - and was left none the wiser at the end of it.

During the call, the fake Neil Lennon suggests he is interested in signing West Brom midfielder Gareth McAuley for Bolton Wanderers, mainly because of his "leadership skills".

A video of the call was posted on YouTube by Harry McLaughlin, who wrote: "Pranked Tony Pulis pretending I was Neil Lennon looking for Gareth Macauley on loan for Bolton.

"I rung him, never answered left him a voice mail and here's him ringing me back."

Pulis, who was last year's Premier League manager of the year, was appointed West Brom manager last month, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Baggies.

His 23-year management career highlights include establishing Stoke City as a Premier League fixture and rescuing Crystal Palace from relegation threat last season.

Both managers appeared on the radio on Wednesday night, with BBC presenter Mark Chapman, and they both seemed to see the funny side of the prank.

When Chapman introduced the Bolton manager, Pulis replied: "What, the real Neil Lennon?"

Lennon, laughing, then asked: "Tony, is Gareth McAuley available on loan?"
