STUDENTS from Farnworth hit the airwaves to record a radio advert.
Pupils from Year 9 at Harper Green School, as well as Year 10 students at Holy Family College in Heywood were invited to Tower FM to take part in a workshop aimed at giving them an insight into how radio stations are run.
The workshop, which was set-up in partnership with Bury College, was also designed to give students experience in the marketing of a business, and they were tasked with creating a 30 second advert to promote Bury College's open day.
The pupils created a storyboard after brainstorming ideas, and went into the studio to record the finished article.
Ellis Lynch, a pupil at Harper Green Arts College said the workshop was a good insight into radio.
He said: "The session has been really good and a lot of fun. I have learnt something new and have grown in confidence."
Tower FM radio presenter Jon Holling added: "The pupils showed a great deal of enthusiasm and have grown in confidence. The end results they produced have been brilliant."
The advert will be played on air to promote Bury College.
