TWO teenagers claimed they were trying to take photographs after one was spotted dangling by his hands from the footbridge connecting Horwich Parkway to the Macron Stadium.
Police were called to the station at 5pm last night after a young man was seen hanging from the bridge.
Officers from nearby Horwich police station ran to the station and spotted the two teenagers, both aged 14, had climbed down and were running away towards the Macron.
When police caught up with them the teenagers claimed they were taking pictures on the bridge, and they were taken home to be spoken to with their parents.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to Brendan Way, near Horwich Parkway station, at 5pm after reports that two boys were on a footbridge and one, dressed in black, was on the wrong side of the railings, hanging by his hands.
"When the officer ran under the footbridge no one was seen, but two males were then spotted running off towards the stadium.
"When the officer caught up with the males, both aged 14, they claimed they were taking pictures on the bridge and they were taken home to be spoken to with their parents."
