A HISTORY teacher who held a secret meeting with a girl he called his princess' after grooming her in an internet chatroom has been jailed.
"Sexual predator" Kenneth Chapman showered the 14-year-old with gifts before taking her out for a pub lunch and kissing her farewell in October 2005.
The former Rivington and Blackrod High School teacher was arrested at work in February 2006 after the girl's mother found out about the meeting and contacted police.
His home PC, mobile phone and school laptop were confiscated and later found to contain indecent images of children under the age of 16.
Chapman, aged 40 of Shaftsbury Road in Swinton, pleaded guilty in January this year, to one charge of meeting following sexual grooming, one of possessing and six of distributing indecent images of children.
He was jailed for two-and-half years after appearing at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester yesterday.
