TURTON has supported the cancer charity "The Hall of Fame" for many years.

There are two events to establish the club's representatives, one for all club members and the other for seniors.

Last Saturday was the first of the two, and the winner goes through to the regional final at Sheffield with the winners and runners up of that going to the National Final, which will be at Fulford GC and Ganton GC in September.

The event is played off 3/4 handicaps, and the winner was J B Holt the club president with 39 points.

THE first medal round of the new season was held on Sunday at Harwood GC, with 96 competitors playing off the newly lengthened course. In difficult windy conditions the morning starters enjoyed the better conditions.

RESULTS: Winner Andrew Molyneux 79-15-64; Division Three Frank Moores 91-25-66; Division One Alf Boyes 80-12-68; lowest gross Stuart Bourn and Simon Wrigley tied 74.
