DISTRAUGHT holidaymakers will be flown back to Manchester Airport in a strand of emergency fights from Tunisia.

Passengers have been given mercy flights by Thompson and Jet2 following a massacre on the beach outside the Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba in Tunisia.

The attack is believed to have left 38 dead most of who are British tourists.

A number of flights from Enfidha will be arriving in Manchester Airport today from 7pm until midnight.

Meanwhile, passengers flying to Tunisia are being offered the chance to switch destination or change the date of their holiday following the devastating terror attack.

The foregin office have reported that a British Embassy crisis team has been deployed to the area and is providing consular assistance to British nationals.

They have adviced those in the area to keep in touch with their tour operator and follow any advice from Tunisian security authorities.

Jet2 have put on four flights two at 6.50pm, one at 7pm and another at 11.45pm meanwhile Thompson have put on one flight at 9.25pm.
