A DAD shattered both his ankles attempting a "James Bond stunt".
The man, believed to be in his early forties, jumped more than 20ft from a bridge on the popular 'Totty Lines' walking path in Bury.
It is understood the man was trying to teach his teenage son how to jump and always land on his feet.
But the lesson ended in a trip to Manchester Royal Infirmary — after the man's stunt went terribly wrong.
Bury firefighters were called to the scene by paramedics at 1.20pm on Thursday to unlock gates on the pathway to allow the man to be stretchered to the ambulance.
A fire service spokesman described the accident as a "James Bond stunt gone wrong".
Steven Wilcock, watch manager, added: “We would advice people not to try out stunts that they see on television unless they are professionally trained.
“This man will be out of work for quite a while to recover now for a moment of carelessness.”
