PHIL Brown believes Sam Allardyce has the credentials to manage one of Premiership's Big Four.
The former Reebok number two and now Hull City manager reckons his old boss would be top of the wanted list if any of the top clubs were looking for a new top man.
Allardyce, who quit Wanderers on Sunday, continues to be linked with jobs at Manchester City and Newcastle while there has also been speculation that his Spanish connections as well as his big reputation could make him a target for the giants of La Liga.
Brown says there are no limits to what he can achieve.
"I think Sam can go all the way in terms of management," he said.
"And that means if Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool became available, I think Sam would be, first and foremost, he'd be the first on the team sheet as we say."
But, wherever he pitches up next, Brown says it won't be long before Allardyce is back in football.
"I know he wants to take time out, how long that time out is, I don't know," he said.
"I don't think Sam can stay out of the game too long. I don't think the game can do too long without Sam Allardyce.
"I think he's a character, he's a great credit to everybody in the English game for sure."
