Horwich woman fined £3,000 after dog attack

A HORWICH woman has been fined more than £3,000 after her dog injured someone while it was out of control.

Paula Gilmore, from Nuttall Avenue, appeared in Bolton Magistrates Court on Thursday.

She pleaded guilty to having her American bulldog, called Kingston, injure Christa Frith while dangerously out of control in Nuttall Avenue on July 15.

Gilmore, aged 46,received a two year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £3,300 in compensation and £180 in criminal courts charges.

The court also ordered her to make sure the dog was fitted with a muzzle sufficient to prevent it biting anyone and be held on a lead or it would be destroyed.

Farnworth drugs driver fined

A FARNWORTH man has been fined and disqualified from driving after he drove while on drugs.

Zafran Qayum, of Thorne Street, was fined £560 and disqualified from driving for three years by Bolton Magistrates' Court.

The 29-year-old was caught driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Blackburn Road whilst unfit to drive on drugs on March 1.

He was disqualified from obtaining or holding a licence for three years and ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid work.

For being caught in possession of a quantity of cannabis, Qayum was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £500 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

He received no separate penalty for driving the Vauxhall with no insurance.

Man fined for assault 

A MAN has been fined for an assault in Bolton.

John Devaney, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to an assault on a man by beating in Bolton on April 23.

The 31-year-old appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and criminal courts charge of £150.

Bolton man pleads not guilty to assault

A MAN from Bolton has pleaded not guilty to two assaults.

Damion Warburton, of Charles Worth Avenue, is accused of assaulting a man and a woman in Bolton on 14 and 15 August.

The 50-year-old has pleaded not guilty to both charges and appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He was released on conditional bail not to enter Whittle Grove in Bolton and was ordered to appear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on December 9.

Farnworth man in court for breaking bail conditions

A FARNWORTH man has appeared in court for breaking his bail conditions.

Mr Asif Hayat, of Plodder Lane, appeared in Bolton Magistrates' Court on Thursday for breaking the terms of his conditional bail granted for a charge of assault.

The 38 year old was arrested by police on September 9.

He was released on conditional bail to appear at Bury Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 21.

Woman found guilty of assault

A HEATON woman has been ordered to carry out unpaid work after being found guilty of assault.

Xiao Qing Jones, aged 45, of Salisbury Avenue, was sentenced to a community order and must complete 80 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

She was also ordered to pay compensation of £50, a victim surcharge of £60, costs of £250 and a criminal courts charge of £520 by Bolton magistrates.

Attacker fined

A MAN has been fined after assaulting a woman in Bolton.

Mark Howarth, aged 41, of Linden Crescent, Darwen, was found guilty and was fined £100.

Bolton magistrates also ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £20, costs of £300 and a criminal courts charge of £520.

Sentenced for order breach

A WESTHOUGHTON man has been given a suspended prison sentence after breaching a restraining order.

Simon Hickey, aged 33, of Manchester Road, was sentenced to 20 weeks suspended for 12 months after admitting the offence.

He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80, costs of £350 and a criminal courts charge of £180 by Bolton magistrates.
