BUSINESSES are being urged to ensure they are ready to comply with the national smoking ban.
Under the Health Act 2006, almost all enclosed public places and workplaces will become smoke-free from July 1.
This includes offices, factories, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants, membership clubs, public transport and works vehicles used by more than one person.
John Davies, head of business law at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants said: "Businesses have a responsibility to ensure they are prepared for this legislation which will have a far-reaching effect on businesses throughout England."
