A MAN suffered a broken leg while fishing in Westhoughton.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team were called to land off Slack Lane just before 10am on Saturday morning after reports the fisherman had fallen and injured his leg.
The man had slipped on the fishing bond bank side, catching his foot in a hole — fracturing his lower leg in the process.
The mountain rescue team and the North West Ambulance Service transported the injured man to the Royal Bolton Hospital and reported that he was “in good humour” despite his injury.
A spokesman for the team said: “Many thanks to the local dog walkers who kindly enquired what was happening and offered local advice on the paths and the location of the injured man.”
