SHOCKING footage has emerged of a man driving erratically before crashing into a wall close to Bromley Cross war memorial.

The driver is then seen getting out of the car holding a young boy. A female passenger also got out of the car, seemingly unhurt.

Police said the couple fled the scene with the child.

The video appears to show a fourth person - seemingly a young girl - was also in the car.

The video was filmed by a camera attached to a motorcyclist’s helmet.

It earlier captured the blue MG car overtaking the motorbike before swerving across two lanes and jumping a red light.

The car then swerves to avoid traffic turning right into Darwen Road before ploughing into a wall.

A spokesman for GMP Bolton North said: “At around 4:30pm on Friday October 30, we received reports of a vehicle which was driving erratically, hit a number of other vehicles in both Bolton and Lancashire and then crashed near to the war memorial, Darwen Road, Bromley Cross.

“The vehicle was a blue MG, registration MM03 UGG.

“Officers attended, however a female and a male carrying a young child made off from the scene. Police are keen to identify the driver of the vehicle.

“The male is described as white, early 20s, 5ft 8ins tall, stocky build, shaved head, with a tattoo on his neck, wearing a grey tracksuit carrying a small child.
