PANTO star and ex Corrie actor Graham Hawley has stepped in to switch on Middlebrook's Christmas lights.

Originally Wanderers manager Neil Lennon had been due to turn them on at the centre at 4.30pm on Saturday, November 14, but Graham will now be flicking the switch.

The actor, who has played killer John Stape in the soap for four years, is appearing as Baron Vontightwad in Jack and the Beanstalk at Bolton Whites Hotel.

Middlebrook is planning a festive family fun day starting at noon with Matt Monroe and Tower FM, live singers, dancers, acts and panto stars from Jack and the Beanstalk including the 18ft giant.

There will be some famous characters mingling with shoppers including Indiana Jones and Spiderman.

The reindeer parade starts at 4pm but the animals will be in a pen outside Next from noon until 3.30pm for photographs.
