A VACANT pub owner is seeking retrospective permission to host conferences and weddings at the venue like it has for four years.

Plans to officially change the use of the two-storey Manor House - the former Stag's Head pub in St Helens Road, Daubhill - have been lodged with Bolton Council.

Owner Mr Ali told the authority in a design and access statement: "The Manor House ceased to operate as a pub a number of years ago and the applicant has, for the last four years, utilised the venue as a place to hold functions and conferences ever since.

"The proposed use is therefore already operational.

"The fact that the current use as a function/conference venue has operated at this site for a number of years without any known detriment to residential amenity demonstrates that this proposal is acceptable.

"Given that the amount of comings and goings does not differ significantly to that of its current lawful use, the application property will not have a detrimental impact on the local highway network with regards to traffic generation."

As well as legitimising the change of use, Mr Ali wants permission for extra parking spaces, a single-storey extension and a dormer window extension.
