EDGWORTH Cricket Club’s no stranger to seeing a great pair of hands – but even Jonty Rhodes would be proud of this diving catch.

When reveller Jason Stott decided to recline on a precariously balanced chair in the club bar, he ended up going down like the legendary South African fielder preventing a boundary.

Best of all – he didn’t spill a drop.

Footage from the club’s CCTV cameras shows our hero as one of three people in conversation with bar staff.

Whether it was the booze taking effect or simply the lateness of the hour, Jason hits the deck hard, yet manages to keep his pint perfectly level.

His fellow drinkers barely raise an eyebrow while their pal lays on the carpet with a bemused look on his face – half surprised and half clearly impressed with his ace fielding effort.

Initially posted on Facebook by Edgworth Cricket Club, the video was picked up and shared by the Edgworth Village community page.

It’s since been seen more than 4,000 times online, with many users marvelling at the Jason's handiwork.

Computer engineer, Jason, 44, of Edgworth said: “I remember the entire incident fully and as soon as it happened the bar maid pointed out that I hadn't spilt a drop from my beer.

“I'm a little surprised by the reaction because we've all fallen off a chair at some point in our lives.

“I only realised that they had copied it from the CCTV the day after, when they emailed me asking if they could send it to You've Been Framed. I agreed, but unfortunately it was refused."
