Bolton-born Lady Showbiz, aka Karen Walters, casts an eye over this week's celebrity news. An entrepreneur, she has worked in entertainment for more than 12 years and is also a presenter on Bolton FM, as well as patron to Bolton Hospice and on the board of Boot Out Breast Cancer

The Queen of The Oliviers, Dame Judi Dench, won the best supporting actress award for her role in The Winters Tale, making it an impressive eighth gong and her 15th nomination.

The prestigious star-studded occasion took place on Sunday, at The Royal Oprah House, Covent Garden.

Surprisingly, instead of celebrating her record-breaking success, she was 'livid' - as her win meant she lost a bet with her grandson.

Jokingly, she said: "Ladies and gentlemen I'm absolutely livid, I had a bet with my grandson... and I'm never going to be able to forget it."

I do love that she wouldn't reveal 'how much' the bet was for!

Bond Beauty Gemma Arterton, 30, may have missed out on the best actress award for her role as Nell Gwynn, however she was a winner on the red carpet, looking stunning in a purple dress.

Now in their 40th year the awards were hosted by Michael Ball - who rocked in red leather high heel boots!

SO could it be the end of The X Factor and The Voice?  Both ‘talent’ shows have struggled with ratings, and replacing judges hasn’t made a jot of difference to the once popular TV shows, with viewers deserting them in their millions -  and now it would seem the captains are leaving too.

Rumour has it Paloma Faith will not be returning for another series of The Voice (personally I think she should stick to music) and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has announced she has QUIT The X Factor, which must be a major blow for TV bosses following the recent departure of Nick Grimshaw, Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.

Bring back Louis Walsh, at least he was reliable... he wouldn't abandon a sinking ship, would he?

The Zak Vali Memorial Celebration is taking place Friday 15th April 2016, at The Bolton Whites Hotel, Horwich.

The celebration evening coincides with the official launch of The Zak Vali Foundation.

Always smiling, sadly Zak lost his courageous battle with cancer last September -  Saturday 16th April 2016 would have been his 16th birthday, making the launch even more special for the family.

Children are welcome - call Stacey on 01204 416990 to book your tickets.
