Yes! It’s that time again, love or hate it... Eurovision 2016 is well and truly under way - with the second of 18 semi-finalists battling for a place and the final taking place on Saturday, May 14, in Stockholm.

Speaking to Cheryl Baker, 1981 Eurovision winner with Bucks Fizz about the glory days after their win with ‘Making Your Mind Up’ (and the iconic stripping off of the skirt) Cheryl, 62 was as vibrant as ever.

She said: “To be honest, I don’t think we would have won without it!”

They sold more than 15 Million records, had three number ones and won numerous awards, including the prestigious Ivor Novello Award and were dubbed the UK’s Abba at the height of their success.

“It was a phenomenal time, that silly little song and a piece of Velcro changed my life and I wouldn’t change a day of it, except for the coach-crash which was a really black time for us all," said Cheryl - the emotion in her voice still evident.

She continued: “We’re a phoenix. We’ve risen from the ashes and we’re better than ever!”

The ‘Make Belief Tour’ this autumn reunites Cheryl, Jay, Mike and Bobby again.

“Fans can expect, nostalgia, all the hits, all the dance routines, all the harmonies - a real feel good show”, explained Cheryl.

Now working with Mike Stock of Stock, Aitken and Waterman, I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of The Fizz.

Elsewhere, George Clooney, 55 and his wife Amal, 38, arrived at Cannes Film Festival.

Personally, I am ‘tres’ excited to be attending and supporting our northern talent.

Award-winning film director, Corrie Greenop, will screen his film, Wandering Rose, during the festival. I promise to bring you all the gossip.

During the week I had the pleasure of attending a very inspiring lunch, hosted by Kyra Dickinson at Boodles Private Members club in London (not the jewellery store as I's first thought!)

We discussed the amazing work of the Tiffany Circle, British Red Cross and suffice to say, I am looking forward to being involved with other women entrepreneurs, philanthropists and this wonderful organisation in the future.
