PATROLS around a school will increase after vandals caused more than £8,000 damage.
The Bolton News reported on Wednesday that mindless yobs hard targeted Queensbridge Primary School in Farnworth a number of times over the half-term, destroying play equipment which has left the pupils upset and angry.
Police have received reports of damage on three occasions — April 7, May 27, May 31 — where damage has been caused to drainpipes, the roof and a shed.
Officers also received reports on the May 29 and May 30 of children on the roof of the school.

Police are urging witnesses to come forward and for residents to be aware that the school was being targeted.
Inspector Mike Reid said: "I am made aware the school have increased their security and our officers are aware of the incidents and will be giving the school extra attention on their patrols."
