YOUNG professionals met for the third professional curry club yesterday.

Solicitors, surveyors, accountants, architects, estate agents and bankers met at Spice Valley, The Noble House, for the networking event.

The curry club was born out of the professional curry club, which gives senior partners and directors the chance to meet and network, which was started in 2009.

Kirsty Critchley who helped to start the event off with Gill Hart in November 2015 said they wanted to encourage a different demographic than the usual curry club.

Mrs Critchley said: "The other networking events were for the directors and senior partners but we wanted something for the younger professionals to be able to meet people and make contacts to potentially get business.

"As it is a new thing we are still looking for new members."

Each event has a guest speaker and this time it was Martyn Shaw, of the University of Bolton who addressed the professionals as they tucked in to an Indian feast.

He was encouraging the professionals to consider working with university students.

The next club will be held in September and will focus on social media.
