TWO more artists have been added to the bill of a jam-packed weekend of live music in Bolton.

Solo singer Ellie Dibben and Bolton-based rock band Alex James and the Sound will perform alongside chart-topping Scouting for Girls and Reverend and the Makers at Bolton Live.

The two acts will take to the stage on Sunday, August 21, as part of a new initiative that will see artists play live music in the 5,000 capacity Premier Suite at the Macron Stadium.

Damian Chadwick, venue controller at Macron Stadium, said: "The second day of Bolton Live just got even better with the addition of two impressive acts.

"When we first announced the weekend of music, we promised to get local artists involved, and that’s what we’ve done with Alex James and the Sound.

"Ellie Dibben is a bit of a coup, she’s very popular and has performed at some big international festivals."

Alex James and the Sound are a new alternative rock band emerging into the wider UK music scene this year.

Currently working on their first album, a number of taster tracks have already reached the airwaves on BBC radio, Heart FM, Capital FM, ITV and other radio music shows.

County musician Ellie was just 11 when her music was played on BBC radio and she has gone on to support Pixie Lott, perform on the main stage of Americana International Festival for the last three years and taken part at The Underage Festival in London’s Victoria Park.

More annoucements are expected to come from Bolton Live, with more acts being added to the line-up in the coming months
