A SIGN, apparently written by a former homeless soldier, has been placed on a shop door in the town centre thanking the people of Bolton for their support.

Written in black ink on a piece of cardboard, the note was spotted on Sunday morning, July 24, stuck to a unit next door to Bamboogy in Bradshawgate.

The author thanks Boltonians for helping them get back on their feet and off the streets, adding that the people of the town were the reason they joined the armed forces.

It reads: “Bolton. Thank you very, very much. As of Monday I am finally off the street after just over a year of living in doorways. Bolton is a town I am proud to call home. Thank you all for the help and support you have shown me. All of you are why I became a soldier. Than you.”

We’d like to trace the author of the note to help tell their story.
