A TASTE of the international is coming to Bolton as part of this month’s food and drink festivities.

Visitors to Victoria Square will be greeted treats and cuisine from around the globe as the Market Place’s Global Village Market sets up pitch on the Bank Holiday weekend.

The mix of Continental traders will be joining others located around the town as part of the Bolton Food and Drink Festival organised by Bolton Council in association with Aldi.

Market Place Operations Manager, Chris Hulley said: “Market Place are delighted to return to the Food and Drink Festival and with such a selection of traders, there is bound to be something for everyone to try and indulge in.”

Among the collection of continental collection will be anything from aMediterranean mix of tapas and Greek grills to popular German Bratwurst and Currywurst sausages and exotic meats, including Ostrich, Kangaroo and Crocodile.

Spanish churros join French freshly baked tarts, breads and pastries and Italian cheeses, hams, biscotti, nougat, chocolate and cannoli.

Coffee fans can peruse 50 different bean flavours and tea leaves, or there’s also fizz from Prosecco to champagne on offer.

The Food and Drink Festival will run from August 26-29, with more traders to be announced.

Famous chefs making the journey to town this year include Great British Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain, MasterChef host John Torode, two Michelin-starred MBE awarded chef Michael Caines.

Tickets are being sold for the the chefs cookery demos as well as brunch and lunchtime events, while there will be a children’s zone, stalls and events throughout the weekend.
