Vandal fined for smashing window of town centre pub

A VANDAL who broke a town centre pub window has been fined £100.
Jamie Rogers smashed a window at the Hen and Chickens in Deansgate on July 2.
He admitted criminal damage at Bolton Magistrates' Court.
Rogers, of Heywood, Rochdale, was also ordered to pay £150 compensation and a victim surcharge of £30.

Suspended jail term for man who interfered with two cars

A SUSPENDED prison sentence was given to a man who intended to steal two cars.
Darren Anderson, of Victory Street, Bolton, admitted interfering with a Y-reg Hyundai and a 2013-reg ford Focus on June 22 with intent to taking and driving them away without consent.
He committed those two offences in breach of a community order made in May for taking motor vehicle, a BMW 116, without authority in March in Bolton, and was re-sentenced.
The 39-year-old was given a total of six months in jail, suspended for 12 months, by Bolton Magistrates' Court.
He was given a 12-month community order with an eight week 7pm-to-7am electronically-monitored curfew, three months' drug rehabilitation and 100 hours of unpaid work.
Anderson was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Court fines man £100 for being drunk and disorderly

A man has been fined for being drunk and disorderly.
Damon Barker committed the offence in Minerva Road, Farnworth, on August 14 and he later admitted the charge at Bolton Magistrates' Court.
The 23-year-old, of Brandwood Street, Daubhill, was fined £100 and was ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
He also admitted breaching a community order imposed in March.
The court amended the order so Barker must now abide by a four week 8pm-to-7am electronically-monitored curfew and carry out 40 hours of unpaid work as well as complete the original rehabilitation activity.

Morrisons ban for shoplifter who stole food and booze

A SHOPLIFTER has been given a year-long ban from the supermarket she targeted.
Jenny Kelly, aged 36, took £4 worth of food from Morrisons in Lea Gate, Bradshaw, on July 2, where she also assaulted a man. The day before she had swiped bottles of alcohol to the value of £10 from the same store.
Kelly, of King Street, Bradshaw, admitted two counts of theft, one of assault and one of failing to surrender to custody.
The 36-year-old was given by Bolton Magistrates' Court a 12-month community order with up to 20 days' rehabilitation activity and an exclusion from the Morrisons branch.
She must pay £10 compensation and a £85 victim surcharge.

Two year conditional discharge for man who handled stolen iPad

MAGISTRATES conditionally discharged a man who admitting to handling stolen goods.
Joshua Crossman, of Silverdale Road, Heaton, took possession on June 7 of an iPad that had been taken from someone else.
The 25-year-old was given a 24-month conditional discharge by Bolton Magistrates' Court and must pay £200 compensation.

Drug addict jailed for 30 months for attempted thefts

A DRUG addict has been jailed for 30 weeks after admitting two attempted thefts.
Dwayne Parkinson, of no fixed address, tried to steal money and items worth a total of £80 from a car on June 18 and £5 belonging to a different victim two days before.
The 27-year-old was sent to prison for 15 weeks for each offence and was ordered to pay a total of £290 compensation and a victim surcharge of £140.
Bolton Magistrates' Court noted the offence "was so serious because the offences were committed on licence and he offends to fund a drug habit".
