SHOPPERS were full of beans over the opening of a new coffee shop in Bolton's Market Place.

Costa Coffee has relocated from a free standing kiosk to a permanent unit in the newly renovated mall.

Customers were welcomed to celebrate the shopping centres new addition alongside the Mayor of Bolton Lynda Byrne, who cut the ribbon to open the new store.

A variety of food treats from the shop's menu and hot and cold drink samples were handed out to shoppers throughout the day, as well as vouchers for free coffee.

But the celebrations did not finish there after shoppers were surprised at noon with a flash mob put on by Bolton dance company Moky Fit.

The flash mob caused a 'stir’ with an extraordinary dance sequence accompanied by uplifting music from inside the café and around the shopping centre which even got the Costa baristas moving.

Nicola Curnock, Costa store Manager said: “We’re over the moon with our new store and so pleased to have welcomed our first official customers in such a fun filled day".

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager said: “Costa’s new store makes a welcome addition to our food and drink offering at the centre – providing the convenience of a quick snack on the go, or a relaxing environment to enjoy a more leisurely brew and bite to eat.

"It also opens up the space on the mall previously occupied by their kiosk, to create easy movement for customers throughout the centre.”

Bolton's Market Place is still undergoing a major renovation and has most recently welcomed Body Shop, one of a steady stream of retail names that have or are planning to open up in the revitalised centre — including New Look, Scotts and Clarks.

Clothing store Topshop is understood to be the latest store that will open.

The Victorian Vaults in the centre have also had an overhaul with restaurants such as Nandos and Prezzo opening in recent months.

It is understood that a nine-screen cinema will be opening in the coming weeks.
