FORMER Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies raised £1,600 for charity yesterday when he crossed the finish line at the Great North Run half marathon in Newcastle.
The 39-year-old is set to donate the cash to the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Charity, which helps a wide range of patients, including children with cancer.
Afterwards, Davies said on Twitter: "What a day, just missed out on two hours by 52 seconds and the last three miles was soul destroying. Can't believe how emotional I was at the end."
On way home to Bolton, thanks for all the messages of support and the donations of course. Loads of great charities made lots of money 👍🏻
