X FACTOR hopefuls Yes Lad were left devastated after failing to make it through to the live shows of the ITV contest.

The boyband, made up of Cian Gleeson, from Horwich, Luke Gregory of Bolton, Atherton’s Sonny Hardman, Joel Healy and Lewis Maxwell, were among the groups sent home by judge Louis Walsh on tonight's show.

The band had been given a second shot at stardom after being chosen as a wildcard entry for the intense judges' house stage of the competition and travelled to Ibiza to go up against six other groups.

But Louis dashed their dreams once again, opting to send through three-piece 5AM and two male duos, The Brooks and Ottavio and Bradley.

Alesha Dixon praised the group’s chemistry but dubbed them “corny”.

After their performance of Michael Jackson’s Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough, Louis said: “I really like them and I think the public would like them.”

The fate of solo artist Christian Burrows, a 19-year-old Bolton barman, will be revealed on tomorrow night’s show.
