BOLTON Wanderers youth team players met Prince William at the National Football Museum in Manchester today.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the attraction as part of a visit to the city on Friday, October 14.
Among the young Whites to say hello to the Duke was 9-year-old Conor Lewis.
He said: “He shook our hands and asked us questions about how it was going at Bolton and whether we were enjoying it.
“He asked what the three main things to do when we were training were. I said one was to have fun, and he gave me a thumbs up.”
Conor joined five other players from Bolton’s under 10s, 11s and 12s teams who were picked at random to meet the future king.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, are also visiting Manchester Town Hall, where they will lay commemorative paving stones honouring Manchester’s six Victoria Cross recipients.
They are also due to visit the National Graphene Institute, and the Francis House Children’s Hospice, which was originally opened by the Duke’s mother, Diana Princess of Wales.
Bolton Wanderers youngsters were among academy players from teams across Greater Manchester invited to the event, which also included Manchester United, Manchester City and Wigan Athletic youth teams players.
