IF Mere Hall’s walls could talk, they’d certainly have plenty of love stories to tell.

For the past two decades, the Grade II listed mansion has been the venue for hundreds of happy couples to tie the knot.

But from next year, weddings will no longer take place at the early Victorian structure, after the council announced its registrar service will be relocating to the newly refurbished Bolton Town Hall.
