PRIME Minister Theresa May has spoken directly to the people of Bolton as part of her New year message.

The Conservative leader has assured residents that her Government is working to make their lives better by investing in the Northern Powerhouse as well as praising the campaigning work of Tory MP for Bolton West Chris Green.

Writing to The Bolton News, Ms May said: “This year has seen seismic political change that we can use to benefit the whole country. In June we voted to leave the EU, something people across Bolton played a huge role in, and my government is set on making your decision work for the whole nation.

“Across the North West, we are investing up to £556 million to boost productivity and promote growth and jobs, focussing on skills, connectivity, innovation and trade as part of our plans for a Northern Powerhouse. And I want to make sure that places like Bolton benefit from the modern Industrial Strategy that Conservatives in Government are working to develop.

“One real strength is the active campaigning of the Conservative MP for Bolton West, Chris Green - a true champion for his constituents.

“He is making sure the voice of Bolton West is heard, and ensuring the area receives its fair share of the investment, prosperity and jobs growth this government is providing across the north.

“I would like to thanks Chris Green for all his hard work.”
