LITTER Pickers of North Bolton collected 54 bags of rubbish from their latest pick.

The session took place at Waters Meeting Road for the third time in three months and helpers described it as one of the worst places in the area, with 180 bags collected in total over the three visits.

Employees from McDonald's in Astley Bridge also helped during the day and store manager Joanne Hutchinson has promised to help each time the group litter picks in the area.

Anyone wishing to get involved can view details on the Litter Pickers of North Bolton Facebook page.

The group meets every Sunday at 9.30am for 90 minutes.
