Fine

A YOUNG motorist was fined and given penalty points for driving without insurance.

Marius Condrut was caught illegally behind the wheel of a 2004-reg Vauxhall Vectra in Back Lane, Over Hulton, on November 15.

The 24-year-old, of Peak Avenue, Atherton, admitted the offence at Salford Magistrates' court.

He was fined £300, handed six penalty points and ordered to pay £85 court costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Jail

A MAN has been jailed after pleading guilty to ABH and possessing a bladed article.

Josh Andrusjak, aged 22, of Samuel Street, Atherton, was jailed for 10 months.

Driver

A MOTORIST has been fined for driving without insurance and without a licence.

Zsanett Bogdan was caught using a V-reg Honda Civic illegally in the road where she lives – Bride Street, Halliwell – on November 3.

She admitted the two offences at Salford Magistrates' Court and was fined £440 and ordered to pay cost of £85 and a victim surcharge of £44.

Six penalty points were added to the 31-year-old's licence.

Sample

A MOTORIST who drove without a licence or insurance and then refused to give a blood sample to police has been banned.

Eamon McCarthy, of Pole Street, Tonge Moor, was caught driving a Peugeot 208 in Wigan Road, on October 3.

He admitted the three offences at Bolton Magistrates’ Court and was then given a 12-month community order.

The 32-year-old must also pay a victim surcharge of £88 and court costs of £200 and was given a 22-month disqualification from driving.

Cutters

A MAN caught with a pair of wire cutters has been given a suspended jail term.

Paul Gerrard was given a prison sentence of 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, at Bolton Magistrates’ Court after admitting going equipped for theft. He committed the offence on January 17.

The 43-year-old, of Columbia Road, Heaton, was ordered to complete six months of drug rehabilitation and up to 10 days of general rehabilitation by the court.

Gerrard was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and court costs of £85.

Harassment

MAGISTRATES conditionally discharged a man after he caused harassment, alarm or distress.

Mark Bird, aged 39, of Longfield Road, Daubhill, admitted committing the offence and failing to surrender to court bail.

Bird was ordered by Bolton Magistrates’ Court to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.

Theft

A SHOPLIFTER who targeted three branches of the same supermarket has been given a community order.

Kirsty Taylor stole alcohol worth £75.75 from ASDA in Bolton on October 13 last year.

She also stole good worth £135 from ASDA in Leigh on the same day and an unknown quantity of vodka from ASDA in Skelmersdale in Lancashire on December 21 last year.

The 29-year-old also failed to surrender to the court in earlier January.

Taylor, of Laithwaite Road, Wigan, admitted theft at Bolton Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to a 12-month community order including a requirement to undertake six months of drug rehabilitation and a more general rehabilitation activity lasting up to 20 days.

She was fined £40 by Wigan and Leigh Magistrates’ Court and ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £170 prosecution costs.
