YOUNG cyclists saddled up to learn how to be safe on the roads.
A special Bikeability session was held on Victoria Square for children who not only found more about cycling but also about the skills and confidence needed to cycle safely on today's roads while enjoying all the benefits of a riding a bike can bring, including a healthy lifestyle and developing independence.
Bikeability is cycling proficiency for the 21st century
Organisers provided all the equipment and more than a 100 people took part during the day-long session.
Jamie Agar, one of the organisers, said: "The day went really well, we had 115 people take part throughout the day which is great."
Bikeability sessions are run in schools and is offered by Bolton Council, with different levels of training for different ages.
