A PIE shop is ‘filling’ good after being named the best.
To celebrate National Pie Week, which ended on Sunday, we asked where serves the upper crust.
Scores of people contacted The Bolton News to tell us where gets their vote with one place’s name cropping up time and time again.
The accolade of best pie in Bolton has been awarded to Wilsons Pie Shop, Bolton Road, Kearsley.
The family business has been open for 70 years and is now being run by third generation, Antony Wilson and his wife Sara.
Mr Wilson, who lives in Horwich, has worked there for 16 years and took over the business when his dad, Ian, retired two years ago.
Speaking of the award, Mr Wilson said: “It’s great. I’ll be getting a trophy made and milking this.”
He revealed meat and potato and peppered steak are the shop’s bestsellers.
Happy customer Mark Worthington said: “Definitely the best pies are served at Wilsons pie shop in Kearsley.”
In the coming days, The Bolton News will be asking readers for their favourite pub for the next Bolton Food & Drink Award 2017.
