A CASINO will be taking a walk on the wild side during a day of animal action in support of the WWF's Earth Hour campaign.

Genting Casino Bolton is taking part in the climate change demonstration on Saturday, March 25, by getting the staff dressed up in their finest animal onesies and one employee will be dressed as a panda — the WWF's mascot.

And all non-essential lights at the Higher Bridge Street venue will be turned off between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The team will also be raising awareness and funds for the Bolton Destitute Animal Centre and handing out branded T-shirts, badges and stickers to customers.

Casino general manager Angie Dorman said: “We are the only company in Bolton to have signed up to Earth Hour and each year we have been determined to make the celebrations bigger and better than the last.

“We are really looking forward to hosting a great night for our customers and hope to raise lots of money for a fantastic local cause in the process.”

Karen Rickards from Bolton Destitute Animal Centre said: “We would like to say a big thank you to Genting Casino Bolton for getting behind our cause.

"The work we do wouldn’t be possible without the backing of the local community so events such as these are really important to us. It sounds like customers are in for a fantastic evening.”
