FANS of Peter Kay’s Car Share will be glued to their TV screens tonight as a second series begins.

For those who missed the nationwide cinema release, the first part of the four-episode season two will be shown on BBC One at 9pm.

Car Share is a smash hit. Initially released on iPlayer, the series became an instant success as the most-watched box-set series. The show follows supermarket employees Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) and John (Kay) as they commute to and from work. The synopsis for episode one says: “After moving in with her sister, Kayleigh is now travelling on her own to work, but will she manage to resist temptation or will she call her old car-share buddy John?”

It will be repeated tomorrow and Thursday, while episode two will be shown next Tuesday.

Peter Kay’s Car Share won Best Comedy Show at the 2016 National Television Awards, and best male comedy performance and best scripted comedy at the Baftas in the same year. The first two episodes were released in Vue Cinemas to help Comic Relief.
