A BREWERY bar serving a selection of Bolton’s best ales and spirits has been revealed as the latest attraction coming to a new town centre development.

Northern Monkey Brew Co. will be moving into The Link, the new retail and leisure venue due to open later this year at the disused Bow Street car park.

Business partners Ryan Bailey and Liam Convey set up the brewery in July last year, building it as an extension to the side of the former’s home in Astley Bridge.

They now produce nearly 300 pints a week and are excited about showcasing the range at their first bar.

Mr Bailey said: “We try to retain a local link as we are both proud Boltonians.

“We have been in discussions for some months now and have agreed to expand our brewery into The Link development in Bolton town centre.

“This will not only increase our capacity but allow for a totally unique town centre experience of buying locally-produced ales from the source.

“We will sell ales from other local breweries including Rivington Brew Co, Holywell, Blackedge and Bank Top to name a few.

“Bolton really is a vibrant brewing hub, and is something that local people have embraced and should be very proud of.”

The bar will serve cask and keg ales, as well as locally-produced gins, rum, whisky and vodka.

Farhad Azimy, who is developing The Link with Spice Valley bosses Subhash and Geeta Kotecha, added: “This is fantastic news.

“This is exactly the kind of business that we want to attract to The Link and that will help restore life to this part of the town centre.”
