Investigation underway after flat fire
AN investigation is underway after a fire ripped through a first floor flat.
Fire crews from Atherton, Leigh and Hindley were called to High Street in Atherton at 7.30pm.
No one was in the flat and no one was injured in the blaze.
The fire has gutted the flat.
Crew Manager Ian Murray at Atherton Fire Station said: “The fire was brought under control within half-an-hour.
“Firefighters are still on the scene as there is a police investigation.”
