A WOMAN is set to stand trial for causing the death of a pensioner by careless driving.
Dorothy Shelmerdine pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Paul Broderick at Bolton Crown Court yesterday.
The 82-year-old was seriously injured on December 4 last year after Shelmerdine's Ford Fiesta collided with him in Green Lane, Horwich.
Mr Broderick died in hospital three days later.
Shelmerdine, aged 42, of Kemble Close, Horwich had her unconditional bail extended by judge Timothy Clayson.
Her trial is set to last for three days and is scheduled to start on March 19 2018.
