STRONGMAN Bolton will be returning for its seventh year next weekend.

The event will be held in Victoria Square on Saturday July 1 and Sunday July 2.

There will be a range of family attractions in the square as well as some of Britain’s best showing of their strength.

It is free to attend and there will be free town centre parking.

There will be 75 men and women from England, Wales and Scotland battling it out for the strongman and strongwoman titles.

Organisers have promised a festival atmosphere at the event and there will be food, drink and music.

The event started life at a school playground in Farnworth in 2010 but has grown in stature and was held last year at the arena at Middlebrook.

It is in association with Xplosive Ape clothing and Bolton Council.
