A WEATHER warning for rain has been issued for tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued the yellow warning for rain to run from 12.15am until 1pm on Tuesday.

The warning is for the North West of England and states there will be heavy and persistent rain in place with 20mm falling and 40mm to 60mm possible in the most exposed spots.

The Met Office said that it looks most likely that parts of Lancashire and the surrounding areas will see some of the highest totals and there is likely to be disruption from some localised flooding.

Rain is expected to continue for the rest of the week before it clears up at the weekend.

The Met Office is predicting maximum temperatures of eighteen degrees in the area and a freshening breeze will be replacing the rain in the afternoon.

Drier and brighter spells are predicted for Thursday but it will also become windier and cooler.
