RESIDENTS are being told to hurry up if they want to take part in this year’s Kearsley Scarecrow Festival.
Organisers are urging those who would like to be involved to make sure they have their applications in by Sunday’s deadline.

Entries need to be in a month ahead of the festival itself so they can be included in the scarecrow trail maps featured in the event programme.
Tracey Wilkinson, a member of the festival committee, said she was hoping the event, to be held over the weekend of September 23 and 24, would be the biggest and best yet.
She said: “Ideally we would love to have 200 scarecrows. We have had quite a lot of entries come in this week but we would really like to make it the biggest and best one yet.
“As well as the scarecrow trails it is a fantastic day out for families.
“Some people cycle around the festival but others drive as it covers a big area.”
Stephen Tonge, who is also on the organising committee, added: “No matter your skills and abilities, it is about joining in and being part of a fantastic community weekend.”
To enter the festival send an email to kearsleyscarecrow
