LOTS of little girls dream of being a princess, but not many of them receive a letter from the Queen!

Sophie Addison, of Victoria Street, Horwich, wrote to Her Majesty to tell her that she is ‘the best Queen ever’ and that she wants to be a princess when she grows up.

Sophie also wrote that she wants to have her own ponies and dogs, just like the Queen.

The five-year-old decided to write the royal letter after seeing a programme about the Queen’s grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, on TV.

Sophie’s mum, Emma, warned her daughter that she might not get a response.

But the family was overjoyed when a letter for Sophie arrived in the post on Tuesday.

It thanked her for getting in touch and also included some leaflets about the royal pets, as well as various photos of the Queen from different stages of her life.

Emma said: “Sophie has always liked the Queen.

“She has always had a fascination with princesses and queens and everything like that. She absolutely loves animals as well.”

Sophie’s favourite Disney princesses are Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and Elsa from Frozen. She said: “I know all the words to ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen, and I like Elsa’s shoes.”

Her mum says Frozen is the only film that Sophie will watch from beginning to end, as she usually prefers to dress up as the princesses.

Wearing a beautiful, red dress like Belle’s from Beauty and the Beast, Sophie said she loves to dress up like her favourite characters.

Sophie also wrote in her letter to the Queen that she had made new friends in the summer holidays, and that it is important to always be nice to each other because it is nice having friends.

The Horwich Parish Primary pupil is now looking forward to going back to school in September when she will start Year One.

And she will be able to tell her classmates about her special letter.
