TRAIN staff are on strike again today and people are being asked to check before they travel.
Members of the RMT union working at Northern Rail are once again taking part in industrial action as part of the long-running dispute over the need for guards on all trains.
Most Northern services are not expected to run and those do will be working on a revised timetable.
No trains are running before 7am or after 7pm.
Replacement buses operating between Manchester and Bolton will also be running on a revised timetable and all services are expected to be extremely busy.
Today is the first day back for many school’s in the region so services and roads are expected to be especially busy.
People are being urged to allow extra time for journeys, to plan carefully and to consider whether travel is necessary.
