LAST week’s picture did not cause a problem for our readers.
It was, of course, in Bolton town centre and showed Deansgate in a photograph taken decades ago.
As John Tootell explains: The photograph shows the Westminster Bank at the corner of Deansgate and Oxford Street.
“I worked there for 6 months after leaving school in about 1960.
“Westminster Bank later merged with National Provincial Bank to form Natwest.”
Other readers who had the correct answer include Stephen Ashcroft, George Horrocks, Frank Hayman, Alice Worthington, Hilda Warburton and Bob Eccles.
So what about this week’s picture do you know where it was taken?
It should prove an easy one for most of you, particularly those readers who have lived in Bolton for many years. Get in touch with Gayle McBain by emailing gayle.mcbain@nqnw.co.uk or ring 01204 537269 leaving your answer and name.
