A PETROL station which was targeted by arsonists last year and set on fire after a ram raid in March has been hit by another deliberate attack.
Firefighters were called to Cleggs Lane Service Station, in Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, just before midnight yesterday.
None of the pumps are currently in use, as the station has been out of use since the previous fire in March. It is currently being refurbished.
Crews tackled a blaze in the foyer of the main shop as well as two back rooms.
Three fire engines attended the incident and crews were there for around one hour dealing with the blaze.
Watch manager Oliver Deller said it appeared items of stock had been deliberately set on fire as well as some plastic shelving.
He added: βIt was quite routine, we just sent the guys in in breathing apparatus, the fire was probably put out in five minutes and it was just a case of clearing all the smoke and all the stuff affected.β
The fire is now being investigated by police.
