BOLTON’s ‘butterfly man’ Ray Sandiford is to hold a slide show presentation and talk next week.

Entitled ‘Butterflies in Decline’, it will take place at Lancashire Wildlife Trust Centre, in Bury Road, Breightmet on Friday, October 13.

The evening begins at 7.30pm.

To reserve seats call the centre on 01204 663754.

The meeting also aims to organise a North West Save Our Butterflies Group and potentially appoint members to a committee.

Mr Sandiford was overwhelmed by the number of people who turned out for the release of 300 red admiral butterflies outside Bolton Town Hall last month.

He has extended his thanks for everyone’s support.

Mr Sandiford still has some butterflies in captivity and is inviting schools and groups who would like to release them to get in touch.

Mr Sandiford is already planning a a talk on the insects next year and will announce the venue and other details in due course.

All donations will go to The Wildlife Trust.
