FIREFIGHTERS came to the aid of a diabetes and epilepsy sufferer after she locked herself out of her home.

The crew was called to the property, in Red Rose Gardens, at about 11am this morning.

The 60-year-old’s medication was inside and she was growing increasingly concerned.

But firefighters used specialist equipment to prise the door open and let her back into the house.

They were at the address for about 25 minutes.

Crew manager Mark Hoare said: “She was a bit panicked when we got there because all her medicine was inside but we managed to get in within about 10 minutes.

“Our trauma technician checked the lady over, but she was fine.”
