OVERNIGHT resurfacing work on the M61 will continue this week
The improvement, between junction five at Westhoughton and six at Middlebrook, started last month and is due to be completed by the end of October.
Work is taking place between 9pm and 5am each night, Monday to Friday, and relying on lane closures and occasional slip road closures.
Another set of major overnight works is also taking place in Folds Road, near Bolton town centre.
Resurfacing of the key busy route began on October 9 and is due to continue from today on the outbound lane, from Bolton to Tonge Moor. In an effort to minimise disruption, the work will be undertaken overnight from 8pm to 6am.
Drivers are also advised that a lane closure will be in place in Blackburn Road, next to the Astley Bridge Asda, this week while Electricity North West engineers are on site.
