FAMILIES were given a big yellow 'hello' as they shopped on Saturday.
The Entertainer store in the Market Place celebrated its first anniversary and LEGO character PC Chase McCain was there to keep everyone in line, and pose for a few pictures.
PC McCain said: "It's been a great day and all the children have been really good.
"Bolton's children are so well behaved!"
Staff at The Entertainer were giving out freebies on the day, giving plenty reason to smile.
David Bracegirdle, the manager of the Market Place store, said: "We're just here to make children happy and you can see today we're doing that.
"The children have been really excited about it."
Mr Bracegirdle, who joined The Entertainer as a temporary Christmas staff member seven years ago said: "The Christmas rush has already started in Bolton and the town is going from strength to strength.
"I think it's been declining but I think it's on it's way back, with the refurbishing of Newport Street. .
"They seem to be condensing the town centre and it's definitely an improvement, customer numbers are going up and up.
"It's the Market Place which started it all off."
